After a successful theater career in San Francisco, I write female-centered socially-conscious scripts for film and television. My original scripts are ensemble-driven and intersectional—personal stories of challenge and adversity with themes of humanism and sisterhood. I’m also the principal of Gavin Creative, producing videos for companies and campaigns and raising funds for progressive candidates.

 

I’ve been a changemaker since the age of 18, creating non-profit organizations, networks and coalitions that still thrive. I’ve been on the ground in the student, feminist, anti-racist and LGBTQ movements in North and Central America. I’ve raised millions of dollars over decades for non-profits, arts organizations, candidates and movements that share my values. My legacy project is the creation of Brava! for Women in the Arts/Brava Theater Center that serves hundreds of thousands of people and expresses the richness of California culture in the Mission District of San Francisco. Every day brings me the opportunity to be the change I want to see in the world.
